HGRPG as a community has several slang terms and words unique to the website. Many of these terms are common across RP sites and forums, however some are exclusive to the culture and vocabulary of HGRPG. This page shall serve as a glossary for common words, terms and phrases used in site vocab.

Writing Terms
- AU = Alternate universe
- Canon = The works of a particular author or artist (either Suzanne Collin's 'canon' book characters such as Caesar Flickerman or HGRPG lore canon)
- IC = In character
- Lore = Site history
- NPC = Non-playable character(s)
- OOC = Out of character
Logistics
- AC Check = Activity Check
- (The) Check = Common way to refer to our Acitivty & Reaping Checks that co-inside with each other between games.
- RP Check = Reaping Check
- [Warehouse:] The website used to keep track of characters for activity and reaping checks.
HGRPG Lore-Specific
- Quell = Based off of a concept from the canon novels, a Quell is a games with a special twist. Instead of taking place every 25 years in book canon, on HGRPG they occur every 5 games.
- Ripred = The rat-king from Suzanne Collins' other book series. Ripred serves as a replacement title for God in site lore (eg. 'Oh Ripred')
Slack Terms
- hell-kim = An emote of Kim Kardashian crying, with hellfire behind her. Signifies an expression of great emotion, usually dread, regret or upset.
- hellmo = An emote of Elmo with hellfire behind him. Signifies an expression of great emotion or vigour, usually excitement or nervousness.
- Plus-Plus (++) = a way to add points to a username on Slack via. the Jarvis bot. Used informally for praise.
- 1v1: a fight match-up, usually mandated, that involves two tributes versing each-other in battle. Often occurs towards the end of a games.
- engine: http://ripred.net/engine, a website that displays the current stats of tributes.
