Early Life
Sol was born and raised in District 2 to two loving parents. There is evidence to suggest that before the death of his best friend as well as girlfriend, he was a relatively happy individual.
- "She didn't know what to say to him to make it better. When he was younger, it was fine to stick a band aid on his wounds and kiss it better but now the wound was stuck inside somewhere and she couldn't reach it with her magic kisses."
Family
His mother is a neurotic hairdresser that distresses by styling, cutting and dying her son's hair. His father is a Mortician and the one who taught Sol the trade. His parents are extremely loving but have been unable to deal with Sol since he fell into his depression.
- "His mother didn't know what to do with him anymore, she didn't know how to speak to him because he never spoke to her. He didn't tell her about his life anymore, he didn't laugh anymore. It was like he had gone away but was still there. "
Luna
:"The first time he saw her his world suddenly made no sense and all the sense all at once and that was the most confusing thing that had ever happened to him." Luna was the love of Sol's young life. She was not only his sparring partner but the object of his teenage affection as well. He loved her in a way that was rather mature for his age due to their higher levels of intellect. When they were sixteen years old she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Luna was a strong girl who had been raised as a warrior and was incredibly frightened of dying in her bed, too weak to move. She asked Sol to assist her in suicide and he complied because of his love for her, dealing himself an incredibly traumatic blow in the process.
- ""When she tossed him his sword, sharp and ready to bite, tears were streaming down his face but with some effort he managed to raise it.""
After Luna
With the disappearance of Luna, Sol was taken in for questioning. As they were unable to prove his role in her disappearance he was released and sent home. With the death of Luna, most of Sol's sanity seemed to slip away, along with the brightness that he had been known for. He is now a shell of what he used to be, bent on self destruction.
