Early Life
Fallstreak Hayes was born in District 11 to Leporis and Theta Hayes. He has a sister, Rupalia, nicknamed Rue. He was known for making trouble with the other kids in his grade, and expressed himself through artwork. He is described as having bleach blonde hair, a rarity in his district, and many thought he might have been rich as though he had access to dye. He was particularly rude to his sister, though it is said he cared deeply for her. His mother had a miscarriage after having Rue, and therefore fell into a depression. Fallstreak took to using the phrase “Live Like You’re Dying”, which he took with him into the 61st games as his token, inscribed onto a dog tag.

The Reaping
The day of the reaping, Fallstreak remembers that he is much nicer to his family on reaping days. He doesn’t even bother with his sister, who helps him get ready for the day. He nervously watches her during the reaping, listening as the girl’s name is called first. He recognizes Taylor, saying that he flirted with her once. He remarks about the scar on his forehead, which he received in an adventure with her. He perks up upon being picked for the games, quietly accepting his place as tribute.
Training Center
Fallstreak is notably absent in the training center, avoiding the other tributes. He does not attend the party held by Elon Emberstatt. Fallstreak earned an 8 as his training score. He was incredibly irritated by the pomp and circumstance prior to the games, and hated the outfit he was given for his interview, a purple suit and cap. He doesn’t mind the interview, and in fact seems to enjoy the limelight. He and Caesar talk of his home, which he misses, as well as his family. He throws in a joke about his private training score, not revealing how he earned a high score. He returns back to his room afterward, and settles in for a long night of sleep.
Early Games
The morning of the games, Fallstreak is awoken by his stylist, and is embarrassed by being half naked when he does so. He gets breakfast, and remains relatively silent. He is amused by the tracker in his arm, and thinks his outfit for the games is rather comfortable. He tries to focus as the counter reaches 20 seconds. He starts to think of everything that he has left behind: district 11, his sister, his mother, and his father. His thoughts then drift to the games, of Taylor, his stylist, and mentor.
Mahlah Shea is the first to attack Fallstreak, but misses. Jae, Walker, an Elon follow suite, but each misses. Mahlah lands the first blow with a shallow cut, followed by a deep gash from Jae. Elon lands a shallow cut, and Mahlah cuts off two of his fingers. At this point he is at 25 damage, and the group of tributes continues to land blows. He lands a blow on Mahlah, instead of fleeing. Elon lands another deep gash, and Fallsteak then decides to flee.
Death
Fallstreak manages to make it to the Palm Forest, where he runs into a large group of tributes that had gathered to attack Chole and Haff. Ambling into the fray, he attacks Haff Ferde. The others turn on Fallstreak, who is killed by Walker Liggens.
