Early Life
For five years, Baylee lived as an only child in a rich family in District Four. At the age of five, however, Baylee's mother was found drowned in a river. She was sure her father was involved, however it could not be proven, so she continued to live with him. Over the next few years, Baylee's father began to abuse her mentally and physically. He hit her for simple mistakes and, when she was twelve, finally admitted to killing her mother. She ran to a Peacekeeper, two told her it had happened too long ago for help to be available.
At fourteen, Baylee's dad forced her into prostitution. He made money from her 'work' for two years before she told the same Peacekeeper about her situation. This time, he was tortured, imprisoned and then killed for the crime, however she lived in fear despite that. Since her father was taken away, Baylee lived with her Grandmother and two of her cousins, Danielle and Jasmine.
Reaping
After being awoken by her family on the morning of the reaping, Baylee worries about her chances. She parts ways with young Cynthia, who she's spent the morning trying to reassure, and finds Danielle in the crowd. After reiterating the certainly of their safety, Baylee waits for the names to be called. Her knees give in, and her body freezes. As she is helped to the stage, she begins to cry, struggling for breath. Suddenly, Baylee realises that she is being watched by Panem and her competition, and attempts to control herself. She tells her cousin that she'll be fine and stares at the stage until the ceremony ends.
Interview
In her interview, a chirpy Baylee tells Ceaser Flickerman that she loves the Capitol. She gushes about the people, before being questioned on her training score - a five. Attempting to maintain a 'sexy' angle, she says she was surprised at the score. The interviewer misinterprets this as disappointment, when Baylee is in actuality impressed and shocked at her result. Next, Flickerman asks about her District, which she describes as 'one big party', before stressing that she can't stay single for long. When asked who she misses, she lists many names, making up boys in order to back up her angle. She is then escorted from the stage with a round of applause.
The Sixtieth Hunger Games
Day One
Baylee enters the Bloodbath, surprised by the red landscape she is greeted with. Losing track of the countdown, the girl falters as the gong rings unexpectedly. She wades out into the sand. Julian Bryze, future Victor, is the first to attack her, sinking a shallow cut into her left thigh. Kiara Mason and Maiya Cladestinee follow. Instead of fleeing, Baylee falls, picks herself up and jumps toward Kiara. She misses, but collects and pitchfork. Kiara and Smokey both land attacks, and Baylee fights back, claiming a second item and lunging for Kiara yet again. Fledger and Kiara attack her once more, and she dies before she has the chance to retaliate, the result of Fledger Rells' blow.
