Early Life
Pre Reaping
Jayson led a charmed life in District Ten. He counted many friends, including Patryck, Terry, Diethelm and Fyuori. His parents divorced when he was quite young, although both remain healthy. Since the divorce he has lived with his mother and stepfather while his older sister went to live with his father. He became instant friends with Patryck at school while the other boys gradually became a part of their group. They formed a band, and Jayson is known as the best tenor sax player.
Reaping
Like many others, Jayson never expected to hear his name called at the reaping. His friends reacted with a mixture of panic and sadness, with Terry screaming "what!?" even as Jayson approached the stage. His thoughts drifted to Fyuori before he hardened his resolve to win.
Pre Arena
Training
Despite his solid group of friends in District Ten, Jayson struggles to make friends in the Capitol. He trains alongside Oz Myrrh, and the two boys end up having a competition to pulverize dummies. Once they have sorted out their respective strengths, Oz offers him an alliance. Jayson feels a wave of nostalgia for home before accepting.
Interview
Demonstrating that he has more than brawn to offer, Jayson is sarcastic throughout his interview. He works in several "your mom" references, and even calls the Capitolites stupid. He avails himself of the high tech gadgets, including a gaming system which has sucked up most of his time. At the end, he speaks directly to his friends and family, ordering them to stay away from his clothes and games while he's gone.
The Arena
Bloodbath
Though having established an alliance, Jayson did not have any assistance in the Bloodbath. He did not officially enter, although he had been given several items, by the time Zinnia kills him.
Death
Jayson had the misfortune to be in Zinnia Yondall's line of sight. Though he quickly realized his error and attempted to run, it was too late. Zinnia stalked him and then used her rapier to bring him down. His death was quick. After, Zinnia looted the items he had collected.
