Life

Early Life

In the year of the 43rd Hunger Games, Brett Reese and Margaret Power were blessed with a son, Killian. They loved him immensely, but weren't stable enough to care for him. Killian's criminal father was involved with District 12's drug ring and his mother was an alcoholic, who would steal the products she'd made at her apothecary workshop to drink, despite the consequences. As Killian was growing up he was frequently abused and neglected, and that's what influenced him to make his decision that, when he was no longer eligible for the Reaping, he would become a Peacekeeper to stop crime and make family life in District 12 easier. He had just recently started training when he turned eighteen, acting sort of as a mercenary for the main law force. He hoped one day to complete his training totally and return to District Twelve to sort lawbreakers like his parents out once and for all.

61st Hunger Games

The Reaping

Just like always in District Twelve, there were no volunteers willing to step in for Killian or his female counterpart, Abri Ballo. As he walked up to the stand, he felt a mixture of fear and shock - knowing the chances of him returning were very small, but forcing himself to smile and move smoothly up to the microphone all the same.

Training Centre

Killian was quiet and withdrawn in the Training Centre, preferring to go round his stations alone, rather than in the company of any other tributes as the Careers were doing. However, Killian did meet Taylor Muncie, the District 11 female, and the two agreed that they had a better chance of surviving as a pair. In his private training session, (PTS info here?) Killian showed his skills in a routine fashion, impressing the Gamemakers whose concentration was lapsing by the time the District Twelve triutes came in. Killian's attempt earned him a respectable 8 out of 12, which he was satisfied with. He mentioned to Caesar Flickerman in his interview that the score showed he was powerful, but still gave him room to improve. The night before the Bloodbath, most of the tributes gathered in the Dining Room for one final party, but Killian remained in the District Twelve penthouse to prepare and rest before the day ahead.

Bloodbath

The race to the Cornucopia at the beginning of the Bloodbath was between Killian, ally-less, and the four person alliance SIAHL. They targeted him immediately, and he reached the Cornucopia already with several broken bones and bruises. Killian knew there was no way to escape them if not by death so, grabbing a crossbow but not wasting any of the precious bolts, he fled.

Day 1

Killian retreated to the Palm Tree Forest to the East of the Cornucopia while the battle was still raging. He tended to his broken wrist when, out of nowhere, a coconut tumbled from a tree and fell right on his head. Killian, now concussed and helpless, could do nothing but wait for tributes - and hope they were friends, not foes. He was fortunate that it was a lone tribute who found him, Jana Hale, and not any large alliance. Jana tended to his wounds whilst he wondered where Taylor was, but then thought better of it and asked Jana to join him in an alliance, instead. Their luck soon ran out when SIAHL found them once again, turning on Jana and causing the two of them to flee that part of the forest together.

Day 2 & Death

Thinking that it would be safer to retrace their steps than to seek out new land, Killian and his ally retreated to the Cornucopia. The bodies from the night before had vanished, but their faces still left an imprint on Killian as he had watched them in the Anthem that night. It seemed that they weren't the only alliance who had carried out this thought process, as the dreaded SIAHL found them once again. This time Jana was spared and Killian targeted, even though he was only just starting to recover from his concussion the day before. Killian and Jana fought back as hard as they could - which was often quite hard - but it wasn't enough. Jae Moreno finished Killian off with a sharp blow to his right kneecap. Killian fell, not abke to get back up again, and was soon dead.
