Life

Early Life

In the year of the 43rd Hunger Games, Brett Reese and Margaret Power were blessed with a son, Killian. They loved him immensely, but weren't stable enough to care for him. Killian's criminal father was involved with District 12's drug ring and his mother was an alcoholic, who would steal the products she'd made at her apothecary workshop to drink, despite the consequences. As Killian was growing up he was frequently abused and neglected, and that's what influenced him to make his decision that, when he was no longer eligible for the Reaping, he would become a Peacekeeper to stop crime and make family life in District 12 easier. He had just recently started training when he turned eighteen, acting sort of as a mercenary for the main law force. He hoped one day to complete his training totally and return to District Twelve to sort lawbreakers like his parents out once and for all.

However, Killian did meet Taylor Muncie, the District 11 female, and the two agreed that they had a better chance of surviving as a pair. In his private training session, (PTS info here?) Killian showed his skills in a routine fashion, impressing the Gamemakers whose concentration was lapsing by the time the District Twelve triutes came in. Killian's attempt earned him a respectable 8 out of 12, which he was satisfied with. He mentioned to Caesar Flickerman in his interview that the score showed he was powerful, but still gave him room to improve, and he thought
