Early Life

Renée grew up in the Capitol, but ran away as a young teenager to seek an independent life. She knew she would still feel at home in the luxuries of District One, so she settled there. Instead of beginning to train as a Career and draw attention to herself, she set up as a professional dominatrix - using her position of power during her time with customers to extract secrets from them, and stay on top of current political and social news. However, towards the 73rd Games, Renée started to miss home more and more, and began to consider returning there if she could.

The Reaping

Renée volunteered in place of Inertia Rae - not because she thought she would win the Games (although she hoped she could) - but because her impulses overtook her. She wanted to go home to find her parents in the Capitol, and she was always intensely curious about fighting and death.

The Train Journey

On the train to the Capitol, Renée began to regret volunteering, knowing that it was the wrong decision. When she met with Opal Earnest, her mentor, alongside her District partner Justice Fray, she said as much - asking for any help Opal could give her and letting her know how scared she was. They spoke briefly, and Renée grew to admire and respect Opal, while becoming irritated with Justice.

The Training Centre

In the Training Centre, Renée tried to interact with as many other tributes as possible. She knew that being from a Career District without actually being a Career made her seem weak to the others, and by making her name known and finding an alliance, she could regain an advantage. Renée became acquainted with several notable tributes. She quickly established a friendship with Heathcliff Travers, who would later invite her to join his alliance with Iris Flower-Oak and Emmery Johnson. Minos Vallanso and Achilles Muto both interested Renée, and she saw Hypatia Anning as an intellectual eual when the two met in the Dining Hall. Bailey Truus caught Renée emerging from a Peacekeeper's room after she had used her professional skills to gather information about the Gamemakers from him, and the two also built a mutual respect. Renée tried the same trick by flirting with Victor Harbinger Rhodes, unaware that he had recently got married. However Harbinger rejected her advances, shunning and embarrassing her. Fortunately for Renée, Weaver Rhodes, Harbinger's half-brother and the District 11 tribute of the Games, didn't hear about this awkward encounter before the bloodbath.

Private Training Session

Renée achieved a 10 in her Private Training Session - the highest score of all the tributes. This was mostly due to the inside information gained from her "encounters" with the Peacekeepers allowing her to tailor her performance to the individual Gamemakers.

The Hunger Games

Bloodbath and Death

Renée and her allies entered the Bloodbath early, staying together and facing the other alliances off bravely. However, after only a few blows of her own, Renée became the target of a series of unexpected and vicious attacks which she could not withstand. After first getting her jaw and collarbone broken, Renée was finally stabbed through the eye by Percy Delacroix, a young tribute from District Nine. Heathcliff quickly sought revenge and dealt exactly the same blow to Percy, and the two girls became the first two deaths of the Hunger Games.

Renée's allies and the other tributes she was acquainted with carried her body to the Molten Gold lake, where they performed a funeral ceremony for her before her hovercraft came. Renée was amazed at how many people were there for her, and for the first time in so long felt like she actually had friends - not just customers. She was afraid of dying, and wished she could see her family one more time, but more than anything she dreaded being sent back to the District to be buried, where she had no family or friends to see to her body.
