Sapphire Ross was the sister of Topaz Ross, the Victor of the 56th Hunger Games. She was actually the one reaped for the 56th Hunger Games, but her older sister took her place in lieu. Sapphire was a member of the alliance Misfit Toys with Sawyer Monaghan and Charas Harp. During the Bloodbath, she was stabbed in the eye by Michael Smith, and her death quickly ensued.

59th Hunger Games
Sapphire, along with her alliance, entered the Bloodbath very early on. She was not attacked for a good while during the bloodbath.
Bloodbath
Like most of everyone in the Bloodbath's early stages, Sapphire started off by attacking Sperring. She then follows Charas' lead in attacking Michael Smith, and ends up cutting his left calf. Things quickly deteriorate from that point, as Mike stabs her in the eye with a cleaver, which causes death.
Death
On a serious note, Sapphire's death post is absolutely amazing. It takes the reader through Sapphire's a few memories of the 56th Hunger Games, especially when it comes to worrying about her sister. It also takes us through when her sister returned home, and how Sapphire was forgotten during that time. It also takes the reader through her thoughts at the time, and how she always - always - felt that she was second best.
And that's how her life ends, with Sapphire thinking about how, no matter what she did, she was always second best.
