Early Life

Dustin began life as an only child. He suffered daily beatings from a sadistic father who also bashed up his mother. However, after a few years of living by himself and being beaten Dustin felt as though he needed some company, someone to share his pain with. One day he returned home with Ashes, a young bright girl who was an orphan and had no home. He took her in and began to care for her and raise her, she was his sister, the sister he had never had. By the age of fourteen there house was burnt down, this came is some kind of surprise to Dustin. His abusive father was injured grievously in the fire and even though he survived he would never be able to hurt anyone again. His father though instantly that it had been Dustin, Dustin knew of course it had not been him, so his eyes immediately went to Ashes. He never told her that he knew. After the fire the family was able to open up a small little shop in the district and with his mothers help and guidance that is where they have stayed since.

Pregames

Dustin finds himself stuck at the fire-making station on the first day at the training center. He stands there, attempting to make a fire, and contemplating why he is fighting, why he wants to live. He focuses and realises it is because he is fighting for Ashes and that he wants to win so he can go home and back to her. Staying there for the good part of the first day he is reminded of why Ashes loved fires so much, of what she must have seen in those flames and that if he was to ever return home he would see her again, because she was all he had left and without him she would be lonely. She would have no one. After a few more moments of peace to himself Raphale Grey interrupts, telling Dustin how to make his fire better. At first he seemed to not notice his company, but then he looked up, eyes sad and depressed, before spilling to the other boy that all things died in the arena. They would burn to ashes. The two of them continue to talk, grimly discussing the extent to what was going to happen to them. Dustin grows more and more homesick. Eventually he excuses himself, leaving the other tribute alone.

Bloodbath

Dustin entered the battlefield tired, having been unable to sleep the night before. It then goes into a memory of Dustin promising he would come home and that he would fight to make it back home. His gaze then sweeps over the arena and all he can see his dust and how much that word is like his own name. As the gong rings out Dustin makes no move to run and join the throng of children that are killing one another. Instead he stays, standing motionless, feet glued to his metal plate. After hesitating he forces his feet to take a step forward, then another and finally another before he starts running towards the chaos. His goal is to reach his alliance and after running into the thick if the battle he lashes outwards, unarmed towards his first victim Alikia Lombray. His attack leaves the young girl with a broken knee, and Dustin moves on, hands grabbing a whip. Person after person lunges at Dustin, attacking him and driving him back. Fiercely he fight back, lunging forwards with his whip wound tightly in his grip. He aims at Razor Creel but to his horror his attack misses. More and more people attack him, opening up fresh painful wounds. With no more then his whip and a bag Dustin turns and flees, running away from the tributes that crave his blood.

Day One

After escaping from the tributes in the bloodbath, Dustin finally is able to meet up with his ally, Jamie. Jamie comes over and they begin to speak. After remember that she had done first aid, he asks her if she can fix him up as the pain from his broken wrists is something of an annoyance to him. Jamie seems rather tense and rigid around her ally and Dustin almost completely oblivious to this fact, nods to her and listens intently as she speaks. After a few more tense words and grim looks the two of them seem to understand that both are not very comfortable with the idea of being allies. Neither trusts the other. Suddenly Razor Creel leaps into their conversation and aims an attack at the surprised Dustin. Dustin slow to react is injured. Razor turns onto Jamie, asking her to help kill Dustin and then he will let her live. Dustin, fearful of his life flees, running away from the people who had hunted him down and escaping before they can do him anymore damage.

Day Two

No longer with an alliance Dustin is forced to face the terrors of the arena by himself. Day two brings along with it the a new battle and more blood to be shed. After wondering around aimlessly and recollecting on an old memory of when Ashes came into the justice building and made him promise to try and come home, and then yelling out into the empty are of the arena, saying how he couldn't. Telling her that it was asking the impossible of him. Eventually he yanks his token off, a red bow tie and shoves it into his bag. After a few more minutes of wondering around he found himself facing a Pitfall Lizard. He attacks the pitfall lizard, his whip leaving a deep gash on the lizards cheek. The lizard hisses angrily and replies in kind, biting him and sending him to immediate peril. The teeth of the Pitfall poisoning him and without anti-venom he would die. Bowing to the lizard in a kind of thanks for ending his life Dustin continues to attack, wanting to rid the lizard of a life as it had one to him. His blow is not very effective and only seems to antagonize the Pitfall lizard further. Angrily the Pitfall attacks taking off two of Dustin's fingers and suddenly Dustin is yelling, screaming at the beast and cursing his life. In his rage he throws down his whip and lunges at the beats bare handed. And so ensures a battle of blood and gore, the Lizard continues to hit and hit, opening up numerous amounts of wounds on the defeated boy. And slowly the boy dies pf both his wounds and the poison that courses through his veins.
