James Mocking

James Mocking is a tribute in the 59th Hunger Games. He is notable for living in the seam and being part of an alliance that died entirely in the bloodbath.

Early Life

James grew up in the seam. His mother died during his birth, and his father died after a fight with a peacekeeper, leaving him parentless. His brother was left to raise him. The two hunted outside of the district, and also took to attempting to rob cargo trains until they’d gotten what they needed. Their efforts were derailed, however, when his brother was selected for reaping when James was nine. He died in the games, leaving James very much alone. At the age of 15, James himself was selected for the 59th hunger games.

The Reaping

James woke for reaping day unfazed by the prospect of the day. He wore a typical pair of jeans and shirt before making his way to the reapings. It was not as much of a shock to him that his name was called—in fact, he felt as though he was ready for the games. Rather than listening to the hubbub of the crowd, he focused his thoughts on the games.

59th Hunger Games

Training Center

James had few interactions within the training center. He met with Zynna Yondall and Alliance Dowry and formed an alliance, Team Jazz. Though all were deeply distrustful of one another, they decided it would be for the best to work with one another. James in particular was happy to have others on his side so that they would not be outnumbered in the bloodbath. He received a score of 6 in training, one of the middle scores for the 59th games.

Early Games

The last thing James thinks before entering the arena is of his brother, Kyle, and his own death. He muses that his body will be sent back to district twelve in a plain wooden box, and that he won’t be long for the arena. He doesn’t have much faith in his own abilities before entering the bloodbath. He is attacked immediately by Sawyer Monaghan. Aesop Bloom attacks, resulting in a deep gash. Denver Samuels stabs him in the neck. Alexander Hood severs his ear, bringing him to 28.5 damage. James attacks with Alex his whip, though he does little damage. Alex attacks again, but it is Aesop Bloom that deals the final blow, killing James with a deep gash across the chest. He is the 7th tribute to fall in the bloodbath.

Death

James Mocking did not have a death post.
