Early Life
TW: Sexual Assault
Phyllis was born into a large family in District Three - her and her siblings were the result of the sexual assault of her mother by her father. However, Phyllis didn't know her parents for very long as she and her siblings were given away to an orphanage when she was four years old. As she grew, Phyllis grew to be extremely afraid of men. In the orphanage, Phyllis befriended a boy named Leo and their relationship blossomed into a romance as they got older - Phyllis loved him, despite her fear of all other men. When she was fifteen, Phyllis was kidnapped while fetching Leo medicine when he was ill. Her captor sexually abused her, keeping her with several other kidnapped women, who informed her that she was going to be forced to have a child so she could beg on the streets and earn money for her captors. After Phyllis had her baby, Kenai, she began begging, determined that one day she would run away and not be a prisoner anymore.
62nd Hunger Games
Reaping and Training
On the morning of the Reaping, Phyllis was woken up by her captor and was treated to a large breakfast. The man accompanied her to the District Square, and Phyllis had to give her baby to him before she could enter the Reaping section. As her name was called, her baby said his first word - "Momma" - and Phyllis fought to get to him, however her way was blocked by Peacekeepers, who forced her up to the stage. There was no sign of Phyllis' District partner, however in his place Dragan Baron volunteered.
Phyllis approached Damion Winters and Riker Mills, in the Training Centre, and Lydie Mansonna soon joined the conversation. Lydie suggested that, in order to get sponsors, the four ought to pretend to be in two couples - Lydie with Damion and Phyllis with Riker. Phyllis thought of Leo - her only real romance between two horrific experiences with sexual assault - and agreed to the plan, but only if their romance would be completely fake. Her fellow allies weren't aware of her dark past, and so obliviously suggested that she and Riker should have a more physical relationship, while Lydie and Damion aimed for romance. Phyllis began to panic when Damion suggested they kiss, and was uncomfortable when Riker did indeed kiss her. However, Phyllis knew that if she was going to survive, she would have to comply. Their alliance was named Morbid Sitcom.
Phyllis received a 10 in her Private Training Session.
Bloodbath
Phyllis slept restlessly the night before the Bloodbath, and the preparations seemed like a blur. She felt safer than she had expected due to the fact that she had an alliance - perhaps ever friends - who would keep her safe. By the time she got her senses about her in the Bloodbath, Damion and Riker had already fled. However, she found Lydie and stuck by her as the two fought other tributes for supplies. Right in front of her, Kiera Dempsey stabbed Theseus Rhodium in the neck, killing him instantly and leaving him bleeding on the ground. Phyllis half-heartedly stabbed his body, with her newly-acquired Dory, but it was already becoming limp. Soon after, Kiera's ally Peridot Myler dealt a blow of the same intensity to Mason Krearns, splitting his skull clean in two. As the Career tributes found a new target in Guy Montago, Phyllis and Lydie followed suit. Phyllis' spear drove home and killed Guy, who was unable to withstand any of the attacks. The tributes turned away to find a new target. After becoming a murderer - one of the first of the Games - Phyllis knew it was time to flee, and her and Lydie ran to find their allies.
Day 1
Lydie and Phyllis caught up with Riker and Damion after they fled the Bloodbath, and the four ran into Aria again, decding to attack her. However, Ellea Banks quickly came to her defence, and was soon joined by Ailis Copper, Kiera Dempsey, Wednesdae Drummond, and Demeter Merwin-Glory. Aria and these new tributes ganged up on Lydie, hoping that if they could kill one member of the alliance then the rest would flee. Lydie perished under their blows, and the other members of Morbid Sitcom did indeed flee.
Day 2
On the morning of Day 2, the three remaining members of Morbid Sitcom were suddenly ambushed by a huge Cerberus-esque muttation. Damion landed the first blow, lodging his Dory into the dog's leg. However, the dog retaliated, biting Phyllis' stomach and wounding her heavily. After one failed attempt, Riker finally managed to kill the dog, and the alliance fled the area in case any more muttations should follow.
Day 3
On Day 3, Naveen Casovnik joined the alliance in the place of Lydie. Phyllis felt intense guilt at seeing Naveen alone - Guy, who Phyllis had killed, had been Naveen's ally. Nevertheless, Morbid Sitcom allowed Naveen to rest with them and refill their water.
Day 3 brought another set of muttations to Phyllis' alliance, namely three Stymphalian birds. The fight was over quickly, however, because as soon as one bird fell, the other two scattered, giving Phyllis and his allies a chance to turn and run.
Day 4 and Death
During the night between days 3 and 4, Phyllis and his alliance were plagued with horrifying nightmares, which still stayed with them when they woke. Every member of the alliance blindly tried to fight off the spectres from their nightmares, not knowing that while they fought the monsters, they too were fighting each other. Phyllis' nightmares consisted of a huge hand, which reached out and tried to grab her baby. Without knowing it, most of the allies' attacks landed on Phyllis, who was so unaware of herself that she couldn't even defend from them. Damion, blind with rage and fear, landed the final blow, and Phyllis was killed, at which point the fog finally lifted and the living members of Morbid Sitcom realised what they'd done.
