Early Life

Biography

Lydie was born and raised a farm girl in District Ten, the third child in a family which ultimately had four. Her life before the Hunger Games was fairly uneventful, with the biggest anxiety of her childhood being the frailty of her older sister, Emily.

Before the Games

Lydie meets Hero Lydie meets Ailis

Lydie formed several relationships of note in the years before the 62nd Hunger Games. First, she met the keen photographer Hero Reiko in the months leading up to her Reaping, and the two became friends, although not intensely. Lydie was intrigued by Hero's strangeness, which made him a curiosity for Lydie which she enjoyed. Soon after, Lydie befriended Ailis Faye, a mute, and a victim of a difficult home life whom she comforted.

62nd Hunger Games

Reaping and Training

Disrict Ten Reaping

Lydie was reaped alongside Damion Winters in District Ten. Lydie had dreaded the Games for her whole life, and couldn't believe the odds. More than that - Lydie knew no one would volunteer to take her place.

Lydie meets Mace

On the train to the Capitol, the District Ten mentor Mace Emberstatt met with Damion and Lydie to introduce himself and share some advice. Lydie was disgusted with Damion's almost maniacal and savage cutting of the food in front of her, but it made her understand how vicious Damion might be in the arena. Lydie asked Mace for help, but didn't expect much, and the often silent Mace proved to be silent once again.

Lydie forms her alliance

Lydie eavesdropped on a conversation between Damion Winters, Riker Mills and Phyllis Roman in the Training Centre after seeing how quickly other alliances were forming. After decided they would make good allies she approached them, and proposed an alliance, which they named Morbid Sitcom. Lydie then suggested that, in order to get sponsors, the four ought to pretend to be in two couples - Lydie with Damion (having forgotten how unnerved she was by how he behaved during their dinner with Mace) and Phyllis with Riker. Damion agreed, but being only fifteen suggested that he and Lydie should play a "sweet" relationship, while Riker and Phyllis added a more adult twist. Damion and Lydie held hands with each other in public for the remainder of their time in the Training Center.

Lydie was awarded a 5 in her Private Training Session.

Lydie talks with Mace

When Mace found out about Lydie and Damion's plans to feign a romance, he was furious, saying loving another tribute was the most dangerous thing you could do in the Arena. Both Lydie and Damion were outraged by Mace's angry words, but decided not to give up on their plan.

Lydie's interview Lydie's final night

Lydie's interview only increased her nerves before the Bloodbath, and the night before she was restless. Damion came to check if she was alright after he heard her smash a plate in her room. They bonded talking about their homes and their sisters - Lydie reminded Damion of his sister Remie, a previous fallen tribute.

Bloodbath

Lydie enters The Bloodbath

By the time Lydie got her senses about her in the Bloodbath, Damion and Riker had already fled. However, she found Phyllis and stuck by her as the two fought other tributes for supplies. Right in front of her, Kiera Dempsey stabbed Theseus Rhodium in the neck, killing him instantly and leaving him bleeding on the ground. Soon after, Kiera's ally Peridot Myler dealt a blow of the same intensity to Mason Krearns, splitting his skull clean in two. As the Career tributes found a new target in Guy Montago, Phyllis and Lydie followed suit. Phyllis' spear drove home and killed Guy, who was unable to withstand any of the attacks. The tributes turned away to find a new target. After watching Phyllis become a murderer - one of the first of the Games - Lydie knew it was time to flee, and her and Phyllis ran to find their allies.

Day 1 and Death

Lydie on Day 1

Lydie and Phyllis caught up with Riker and Damion after they fled the Bloodbath, and the four ran into Aria again, deciding to attack her. However, Ellea Banks quickly came to her defence, and was soon joined by Ailis Copper, Kiera Dempsey, Wednesdae Drummond, and Demeter Merwin-Glory. Aria and these new tributes ganged up on Lydie, hoping that if they could kill one member of the alliance then the rest would flee. Lydie unfortunately perished under their blows.
